All of your donations are making a difference!
The following is an email sent to Mary M. Walker, a member of the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library. It comes from a Resource Coordinator of the US Peace Corps in the Philippines. We are always in need of book donations and that which we can’t use, always finds a welcoming home and group of voracious readers! Please keep them coming!
Dear Ms. Mary,
Once again, thank you for sending some more books our way. My mom distributed most of the books to her contacts. There were several pocket books that went to a nurse who has cancer and is no longer able to leave the house. When he heard about the books, he said he wanted as much as he can get because there’s nothing better to do but read. So he is very thankful for the books. Most of the encyclopedias went to Quezon province once again, where my aunt manages a school. I do not know if I mentioned this already but they are up for assessment under the Department of Education and the books will definitely improve their facilities/services.
Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness!
I have received another box from you and Mama said it was sent this week. Thank you for everything!
