History
Leet Township grew out of the original Sewickley Township. Leet became its own entity in 1869 and would later see Edgeworth, part of Sewickley Heights and Leetsdale formed out of its boundaries. Leet is perhaps most famous for being the site of D.T. Watson Rehabilitation Hospital, where Dr. Jonas Salk first used his revolutionary polio vaccine.
