Summer Reading 2021 Bookmark Design Contest
This is your chance to design an official bookmark for Summer Reading 2021! This year’s theme is ‘Tails and Tales’ – a celebration of animals in literature. Pick up an entry sheet at the library or on our website and let your imagination run wild! The winning bookmark design will be professionally printed and distributed as the ‘official’ bookmark of Summer Reading.
Contest open from April 1st – 30th. Winners will be chosen from the following age groups: Preschool-5th Grade and 6th Grade – 12th Grade. Winners will receive copies of their bookmark and have their bookmark printed as the official bookmark of Summer Reading 2021. All entries must be submitted by April 30th to be eligible. Earth Day City Nature Challenge Storytime
Join us for a special virtual storytime with Allegheny Land Trust all about Earth Day and the City Nature Challenge on Saturday, April 17th.
We’ll read stories about being a citizen scientist and about Earth Day. Miss Julie from ALT will introduce us to the City Nature Challenge and iNaturalist. Plus fun crafts!
Spring Craft To-Go Kits
Stop by the Children’s Dept. to pick up a special Spring themed Craft To-Go Kit! Supplies and instructions are included. Kits are geared for children in preschool – Grade 2. Available while supplies last. First come, first served.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Help your child build a love of reading from an early age with the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Read along with your child, track titles & earn incentives along the way!
Children’s Zoom Book Club
Explore friendship, finding your place and learning to rock out like no one’s watching when you read this month’s book, The First Rule of Punk by Celia Perez. Tuesday, April 27 @ 4:30pm. Grades 3-5.
Family Fridays Craft/STEM Bags
This month we’ll be learning about how things grow! Enjoy a short virtual Storytime on YouTube then work together on a STEM activity and craft at your own pace! Registration is limited!
