The Great Backyard Bird Count Storytime

Join us for a special storytime with Allegheny Land Trust all about the Great Backyard Bird Count on Friday, February 5 at 11am.  We’ll read stories about birds, learn about counting birds in our own backyard and make a birdfeeder for your own backyard!

Register for the program below, then call the Children’s Dept. to arrange a kit pick-up starting on February 3 starting at 10 AM to pick up your supplies. 


2021 Winter Reading Program

New to 2021! Join the Kids Winter Reading Program for your chance to win some great prizes – just for reading!

Set your own goal or a family goal of reading minutes between January 19 – March 27. Log your entries online by entering the minutes you read each day. The more you read, the more chances you have to win! 

Don’t let summer reading have all the fun! Registration begins January 8th!


The Battle is BACK!

…with a new twist – it’s BOB BINGO!!! Students in Grades 4 & 5 are invited to join this year’s individual style event. Read a combination of books from the list and titles you choose to complete your monthly BINGO. Every BINGO earns you more chances to win monthly prizes & grand prizes for both grade levels!


QV Kindergarten Registration

Quaker Valley Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year will open on February 1. At that time, instructions about how to register online will be posted on the District’s website. Prospective kindergarten students must be five years old on or before September 1, 2021, to register for the 2021-2022 school year.

A Kindergarten Roundup event will be held later this year, with specific dates forthcoming. Kindergarten Roundup provides families and kindergarten students an opportunity to meet a kindergarten teacher for a preliminary readiness screening and provide academic tips before school begins. More details about Kindergarten Roundup will be sent to those families who have completed the kindergarten registration online. 


Winter Fun Craft-to-Go Kits

Stop by the Curbside Pickup Table to pick up a special Winter Fun themed Craft To-Go Kit! Supplies and instructions are included. These kits are geared for families. Kits are available while supplies last. First come first served.


Ready Set Music

Feelings can be hard for children to talk about. Helping children use words to describe what is happening inside them is an important part of Social and Emotional Learning. Love to Read? Join our Children’s Book Club! In December, we will reading The Last Kids on Earth by Max Brailler. Discussion on Tuesday, January 26 at 4:30pm.

Family Fridays Craft/STEM Bags

Enjoy this NEW Family STEM program! We’ll provide instructions and supplies for awesome STEM crafts that you can work on together as a family.
